Methodology
What this is grounded in
Only texts, authors, and calculation rules that can be checked. No press logos, no awards, no user counts.
Classical BaZi
- 淵海子平
- 三命通會
- 滴天髓
- 窮通寶鑑, for the seasonal 調候 note
Zi Wei Dou Shu
- 紫微斗數全書
- The four transformations follow the 全書 table
Human Design
- The system as originated by Ra Uru Hu (1987)
- Design moment: 88° solar arc before birth
- Longitudes are checked against the Swiss Ephemeris (Astrodienst), the astronomical data set used for this system
KinCode is not affiliated with Jovian Archive or the Human Design trademark holders. The chart on this site is computed with astronomy-engine and checked against that ephemeris on the published test births.
MBTI
- Carl Jung, Psychological Types (1921)
- The type framework developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs
- A typology for self-reflection, not a clinical instrument
KinCode is not affiliated with The Myers-Briggs Company or 16Personalities.
How the four systems sit together
True solar time
BaZi and Zi Wei hours are corrected for longitude and the equation of time. The page shows both the clock time and the corrected time.
The day changes at 23:00
Early zi, from 23:00, starts the next BaZi day.
Agreements and tensions
The report sets the four systems side by side and writes where they repeat each other and where they argue. It does not average them into one slogan.
What the calculator does
The free chart runs in the browser. At checkout the server runs the same rules again. The order does not trust the browser’s result.
True solar time is clock time plus a longitude correction (four minutes per degree from the timezone meridian) and the equation of time. The displayed minute is truncated. Human Design uses the real UTC instant and is not shifted again.
BaZi uses lunar-javascript, with the day changing at 23:00. Luck direction follows sex and the year stem. Zi Wei uses iztro, with the 全書 transformations. Without a birth time there is no hour pillar, no Zi Wei chart, and no Human Design.
The Human Design design moment is the Sun’s longitude minus 88° before birth. Planet positions on this site use astronomy-engine’s of-date ecliptic. Gates start at 302° and are 5.625° wide. Within about 0.01° of a boundary, another ephemeris can disagree by a line. On the two published test births, the gates and lines agree with the Swiss Ephemeris comparison.
Archetype names are a rule-made title so the chart is easy to remember. They are not a traditional school’s names. Ziwei in the life palace supplies the epithet; otherwise the first major star does. The role is the day-master element times the Human Design type. The table is documented and can be replaced.
